Fishing and Species
Nomads fishes a range of remote rivers and lakes. They fish for rainbows, browns, steelhead, silver salmon and sea run browns. Nomads relies on its cutting edge aero-maritime transport system consisting of a Bell 407 helicopter, 6 jet-boats, a Hurricane 920 RIB zodiac, and other watercrafts such as zodiacs and catacrafts. Meanwhile, 36 McKenzie boats and 12 jetskiffs are placed in strategic spots, readily available for fishing trips on remote waters whose initial access is by helicopter. This equipment allows them to go beyond what other operators are able to do, into the most secluded rivers, lagoons and mountain valleys.

The custom designed 150-foot ship Atmosphere is the home for your ultimate fly fishing adventure in Chile. It is like no other in the world and truly a “moveable feast”. They can reach places that are totally wild and have never been fished or have been fished only by them. The fishing is primarily for rainbow and brown trout. In addition, they fish for steelhead, Atlantic salmon, King and Silver Salmon.

Nomads of the Seas has invested heavily in its aero-maritime transport system. They have six passenger Bell 407 helicopters, six jet-boats, a Hurricane 920 RIB zodiac, and other lesser watercrafts such as zodiacs and catarafts. In addition, there are 36 McKenzie boats and 12 jet-boats that are placed on strategic lakes and streams of Patagonia. In their fly fishing program, the angler may be part of a scouting team, which adds a whole new dimension to each expedition. There is not a locked-in itinerary for each week. Where and how you fish depends on the interests of the anglers, what is fishing well and the weather (as it relates to water height and flying in the helicopter).

The Atmosphere’s cabins were built with attention to detail, emphasizing the importance of comfort and safety above all things. There are ten deluxe twin cabins and two deluxe king cabins located on the second deck and two premium king cabins on the fourth. Each cabin has a view of the water, private bathroom with hair dryers, air conditioning and heat controls, safe deposit box, electricity plugs, as well as plenty of storage. There is a spacious and comfortable combination lounge, dining room and bar, that takes up nearly one level of the boat. The setting is casual and very comfortable.

Nomads’ Patagonian gastronomy is one of the many treats passengers can experience on board. Its distinctive feature is the wide variety of native ingredients found in the southern part of Chile and used in traditional preparations. Its repertoire includes fish such as salmon, grouper and hake; and shellfish like abalone, sea urchin, krill and king crab. Red meats include lamb, beef and also a few game birds. Meals will be accompanied by special Chilean wines, carefully selected for each course by our sommelier.

After an intense day out in the wilds of the Chilean coast, it feels good to replenish your energy in the spa, which includes a sauna, massage and thalassotherapy services. Thalassotherapy bathtubs are filled with seawater and heated to 98.6º. Submerging in these waters is a great way to relax after a day of wading the river.
